6/05/05 New appointments spur growth at Consolidate

Ground engineering specialist Consolidate has promoted two of its key staff as part of a structured programme of growth that has already seen the company undergo a name change in the last six months and diversify its areas of operation.

Former Contracts Engineers Gary Miller and Paul Burns have been promoted to the positions of Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager respectively.

The move is part of a new development strategy for Consolidate - formerly known as SeaMark Geotechnical. The bulk of current work is focused on the consolidation of old mineworkings to enable house building, retail and commercial development, but now the company is looking to develop its business in other areas of expertise, including ground anchoring, soil nailing and mini piling.

"Gary and Paul have played an instrumental role in the growth of Consolidate and their promotions will help this expansion continue," states Beaton Sutherland, Consolidate Director and General Manager.

Major projects currently underway include the consolidation of old shale mine workings at Uphall in West Lothian for a house building programme and the consolidation of an old linoleum factory site in Kirkcaldy for Scottish Enterprise Fife.
